"A Gun In The House"

One Day Class - June 12th, 2010 9 AM3 PM  

One Day Class - July 10th, 2010 9 AM3 PM  

Two Day Class – June 21st and June 28th 6PM9PM

Since 1981, over 8,000 students graduated from this responsible firearms training and certification program. This program satisfies all mandated training requirements for concealed weapons permits and is endorsed by the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine. A Gun in the House is an six hour program that teaches its students to:

  • Lose their fear of firearms
  • Store and handle their firearm
  • Legal responsibilities and liabilities with owning a firearm
  • Defend yourself in deadly and non-deadly encounters
  • Satisfy training requirements for all of Maine

 

"A Gun in the House" is taught by knowledgeable, certified firearms safety instructors and hosted @ Howell's Gun & Archery. This class covers State of Maine concealed carry laws, when and where you can carry and where not to carry. The class will also go over safe storage/keeping and gun safety. This class will also discuss how the permit and laws cross over to other states and more.

The Classroom covers all aspects of "Use of non-deadly and deadly force (Title 17-A MRSA, chapter 5, Justification)".

Class Information

In order to reserve a spot in one of our Gun in the House Class we must have a deposit from you.  You can do this by either calling us at 207-657-2324 or stopping by.

Cost of the Class in $75. Classes run from 9am to 3pm Saturdays or 6pm to 9pm Mondays.

Bowhunter & Hunter Safety Classes

These are two day courses, you must be present for both days

Firearms: September 17, 2010 6PM - 9 PM and September 25, 2010 9AM5 PM

Bow hunting: August 20, 2010 6PM - 9PM and August 28, 2010 9AM5PM

Crossbow: August 28, 2010 5PM9PM (requires completion of Bow hunting class first)
